Disadvantages of Intensive farming

1. Some farmers end up keeping livestock’s above their holding capacity (over stocking) which stimulates various kinds of diseases and infections due to poor hygiene and overcrowding.
2. the use of chemical fertilizers affect the soil and water by contaminating the soil and water bodies like rivers, oceans and lake
3. Some livestock’s are being injected with hormones and other chemicals which are harmful to the human body system in order to increase yield and productivity.
4. Most pesticides that are being sprayed to our crops to control pests from attacking our crops cannot be washed off easily which affects the health of human beings after consumption.
