Intensive
farming
This is the type of farming that is requires
high inputs such as capital, labor, or heavy use of pesticides and chemical
fertilizers for the land area.
Intensive farming practices is the
type of farming practices that involve very large numbers of animals raised on
limited (enclosed) land which require large amounts of food, water and medical
inputs.
Most of the meat, diary, eggs, fruits,
and vegetables available in supermarkets are produced using these methods of
industrial agriculture.
Advantages of intensive farming
1. Farm lands and livestock’s can
easily be supervised and monitored by the farm owner.
2. It helps to achieve increase in crop yield
with the use of fertilizers and chemicals which helps in the crops growth and
productivity.
3. Attacks from pests and diseases can
easily be identified and be prevented.
4. It enhances the farmer’s income
5. It helps to create employment as
large number of laborers is required.
6. Less amount of land can be used to
produce large quantity of food.
